third collo hours report

The past two months have definitely been a blur, but I’m doing pretty good with my goal.

In April, I read half of Wild Palms (until I had to return it to the library… I plan on finishing it in May after I buy a copy), I read all of Ottessa Moshfegh’s My Year of Rest and Relaxation (new favorite novel), and I read all of Sylvia Plath’s book/collection of poems titled Ariel.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading and writing… I organized my poetry and I’ve been mentally planning out my creative writing ideas to manifest in the summer, when I have adequate time.

I watched a few movies too, and I also have a journal now where I’m tracking everything I’ve read and watched… so that’s cool.

I’m going to continue my reading/movie watching goals through summer. I’ve made a list of 35 books that I MUST and AM GOING TO read this summer to get up to par on my cultural literacy level (and for enjoyment!), I raided my family’s bookshelves, went to McKays, and now, my 35 books are here in my bedroom in a plastic bin just waiting to be picked up and read, one by one, all summer long. I also made a list of about 100 fantastic movies that I’m going to try to watch before fall semester starts.

It’s going to be a summer of intense focus and creativity… and ultimate recluse mode is going to be activated. But, I’m really excited and proud of myself, because I know that this is going to be good for me, and it’s nice to see that I’m capable of setting and following through with goals.
