Vocal Recital

Tonight, I went to the spring vocal recital (student of Rachel Helton, Dr. Sun-Joo Oh, and Chris Plaas) in Mathes Hall. There were 17 different performers and they each did a wonderful job, singing classical songs of all different languages. I really enjoyed every performance; how engaged the singers’ were, their mastery of the songs, and also the piano accompaniment. I liked the various different languages and styles within the recital, and I especially enjoyed one French song performed, “Fêtes Galantes”, and also an Italian song, “Chi viol la zingarella”. Those two really gave me chills and I really liked them, but the whole recital was beautiful– I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and normal interest pool and attended it! I’ll definitely try to go to more in the future.
