volunteer hours (2)

Yesterday, on December 3rd, I went with 3 other girls from Student United Way (one of the volunteer organizations here at ETSU) to go buy Christmas presents for our Giving Tree child! Her name was Annabelle and we decided that, as a group, we would put our funds together and give her a great Christmas! We bought her probably about 10 articles of cute clothing, some creative toy things (she’s 6), a lava lamp, and a marshmallow pillow. It was actually really fun to pick out some great gifts, even for someone that you don’t know at all. Taking time out of my day to ensure that someone in need has a good holiday season felt really good and put me in the holiday spirit! I’m glad that I was a part of it and I’m planning on doing it again next Christmas.
